Herb Alpert School of Music, in Schoenberg Hall

The man who gave us one of the great record jackets ever, a USC grad, has given UCLA $30 million for its school of music, which will be renamed for him. It was also announced that all performances of “A Survivor from Warsaw” at the school will now include parts for marimba and maracas, and snappy trumpet stylings. Read more here.
