Classical Life exclusive: The Dudamel Dog

April 5th, 2008, 1:11 pm · 3 Comments · posted by tmangan

Pink’s, the world famous hot dog stand in L.A., is a favorite retreat of Gustavo Dudamel, the music director-to-be of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. The folks at the eatery have taken as much of a liking to the maestro as he to them, and have named a spicey concoction in his honor. Wednesday, they threw a meaty bacchanal for the maestro at Disney Hall. Here are the photos, taken by Joanne Pearce Martin, the Phil’s keyboardist.

  1. David S. Says:

Do you think anyone sang “Oh I wish I was an Oscar Meyer weener”?

  2. Gregg Wager Says:

But then again we all have suspected that Gustavo was a real weenie.

    Best of luck, Los Angeles…

  3. Vina Williams Says:

When the Pacific Chorale sang the Ravel with Dudamel two weeks ago, we heard about the Dudamel Dog at Pink’s. What a thrill it was for us to be conducted by him! He’s as much fun as these pictures show him to be. Loved it!
