Forget the fabulous haberdashery of Wolfgang and Igor. Today’s great composers wear jeans, tennies and ball caps. (Click on the thumbnails.)

  • David Ocker says:

Six guys on the cover. What, no women?

  • Sid Anderson says:

The informal duds may be a symbol of their new music, or it is
possible that they just want to be comfortable.

David, perhaps my photo was poor — second from right is Jennifer Higdon.

  • David Ocker says:

Tim, perhaps I was making a joke. Yes, that’s more likely.

I really did see six men there at first and I was curious who had been picked since I recognized only 3 of them immediately. It was not until I squinted out the printed names that I realized my confusion.

I added the word “grin” to my comment (to indicate the supposed twinkle in my eye). But I put it in left and right carets -which your computer cut out as unwarranted html code. (without giving me a chance to fix it)

Still, if you just glance at that picture, don’t you think Thomas Ades and Jennifer Higdon look a lot alike?

  • tmangan says:

Ah, thanks for the explanation, David. I will assume your question is rhetorical.
