Two music icons headline in Segerstrom Hall during the Christmas and New Year’s Holiday Season: the incomparable Diana Ross on Sunday, December 7, followed by the original Jersey Boy, Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons on Saturday, January 3.

Diana Ross, a 13-time Grammy® Award nominee and Oscar®-nominated singer/actress/record producer, visits the Center for her first public performance on Sunday, December 7 at 7 p.m. in Segerstrom Hall.  Ross is one of the most iconic female singers of all time and one of the most prominent women in popular music history and pop culture of the late 20th century. In addition to her Academy Award nomination, Golden Globe Awards, Tony® Award and multiple Grammy Awards, Ross’ lustrous career in music, film, television and theatre, as well as her cultural influences, humanitarian work and contributions to American culture were acknowledged by the prestigious Kennedy Center Honors in December 2007.

The Center is pleased to welcome Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at 8 p.m. in Segerstrom Hall. Valli’s incredible career as a solo artist and with The Four Seasons has produced 19 Top 10 hits and sold more than 100 million records worldwide. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 and named longevity champ of the rock era by Billboardmagazine. This is Valli’s first public performance at the Center; he first appeared here in a private Candlelight Concert performance in December 2007.

Tickets for Diana Ross are $56 – $96 and for Frankie Valli, $49 - $89. They will be available starting October 12.

FYI…Just so you know the facts (which, with all due respect you should have checked), Diana Ross has never won a Grammy Award. She has been nominated several times, but she never received the Grammy itself.

  • Paul Hodgins says:

Quite right, David. Thanks for pointing that out. The Center must have been referring to Grammy nominations, though they still got it wrong — I count 13 as of 2007. I will inform them of their mistake and fix it on the blog.
